Echinoderms

category-echinodermss-01.pngWith their languid movements, and their radial symmetry, the Echinoderms often seem more like plants than animals. In spite of their strangeness, the echinoderms are actually more closely related to the chordates (our group) than are many more familiar animals. Since ancient times, echinoderms have been roaming, and rooted to the sea floor, bearing witness to the proliferation of other animal groups, and somehow keeping a place in this new world!

Unlike many more complex animals, the echinoderms have the amazing ability to regenerate their bodies when limbs are lost, or worse. Our echinoderm accessories celebrate this fascinating group which has stood the test of time!
