Our Egyptian Sarcophagus Locket is truly unique, and remarkably intricate! Like the Ancient sarcophagi after which it is modeled, it has many layers of complexity.
The lid of the outer sarcophagus is decorated with a finely sculpted pharaoh. In his hands, he holds the crook and flail that symbolize his kingly power and responsibility. On the sides, sculpted in relief, is the the goddess Maat, the divinity who the ancient Egyptians considered to be the embodiment of justice and cosmic balance. Maat can be identified by the presence of her feather, against which the hearts of the deceased are weighed. Also sculpted on the outer sarcophagus are the Ankh and the Scarab, potent symbols that often accompanied ancient Egyptian burials.
The highly detailed outer sarcophagus is only the beginning! The lid of the outer sarcophagus opens to reveal a beautifully crafted, gold-toned humaniform Coffin, which in-turn opens to reveal a mummy. The mummy, wrapped in strips of linnen can also be raised to reveal the reliquary within!
An essential accessory for Egyptologists, or anyone who feels the age-old fascination with the civilization that grew up along the banks of the Nile, and thrived for so long!
Comes with both an adjustable-length 3mm vegan-suede necklace cord and a steel keyring. Please specify your preference. The option not chosen will be included (unattached) so that you can swap cord and keyring if you change your mind.
